A tradition beginning in 1994, the St. Ann’s Men Club has organized the distribution of Thanksgiving Baskets to those in need on the weekend before Thanksgiving Day. Last year, 1,508 baskets were distributed to families in Coppell, Flower Mound, Lewisville, Dallas, and other communities. We also provided 200 turkeys to a Soup Kitchen in Carrollton. Family names are obtained from school districts, Wellington, Family Gateway, and those provided to our parish office. We are estimate over 1,600 baskets plus 200 turkeys for this year.
Only through your donated treasures, time and talents is it possible to make this another very successful Thanksgiving Basket drive. It's wonderful, amazing and so spiritually uplifting to witness the Love of Jesus in everyone's actions and eyes.
Volunteers that have assisted, especially those that have distributed the baskets to the recipients, have departed the event with a sense of fulfillment, joyful smiles, uplifted spirits, and tears of satisfaction of making “a difference” in someone else’s life.
Each Thanksgiving basket will contain a disposable cooking pan, turkey, dressing mix, milk, bread, and an abundance of canned goods.
